It was my pleasure to play with a terrific team and to compete for the championship trophy named in honor of Jerry Danko who through his tireless championing of Ice Hockey was a friend to all of us.

Jerry drafted me to my first league team.  When I met Jerry a little more than four years ago I couldn't skate, I couldn't stop a puck and I was lucky to get on and off the ice without hurting myself.  Jerry took a chance and drafted me over much better and more experienced goalies.  He has done the same for others who wanted to play this terrific game of hockey and in so doing has brought many of us admission to the sport and tremendous pleasure.

I cannot step on the ice without honoring Jerry.  It is inevitable and it is right and I miss him.
